K-Tape Crosstape

Crosstape® Therapy

Crosstape can be used for a wide range of applications. The areas of application can be found in the specialist book “K-Taping – An Illustrated Guide” by Birgit Kumbrink or learned in courses at the K-Taping Academy.

Crosstape - how Crosstape works

How does Crosstape work?

Kumbrink Crosstape consists of a two-fiber blend applied to a specially coated paper film. When the Crosstape is removed from the backing, an electrostatic charge tailored to Crosstape application is created in the tape. Crosstapes are water-resistant, can be worn for several days and contain no active ingredients.

Crosstape - how the human body works

How does the human body function?

Many functions and information processes in the human body are controlled by very small electrical impulses. Whether muscle, fascia or nerve functions, as well as acupuncture points, the body often uses measurable electrical conduction and resistance. One important organ in this context is the skin. The largest organ in the human body, equipped with a large number of receptors and complexly connected with internal organs and the brain, is able to transmit information, pain states and perceptions.

Whether in diagnostics (ECG) or therapy (electrostimulation devices/TENS), medicine has used the functions and connections of the skin for many years. The same applies in acupuncture, where the exact location of the acupuncture points to be treated is found by their electrical charge. Injuries, diseases, scars and tension all influence the body’s electrical conduction system and are transmitted to the brain as disturbance and pain. (Gate Control Theory of Pain)

The water-resistant Crosstapes are free from medication and active ingredients and, depending on exposure such as showering, swimming, sport or work, can adhere to the skin for up to several days.

Crosstape - sizes and applications

Many sizes. Many applications.

Kumbrink Crosstape is available in sizes S, M, L and XL. Size M is the most commonly used size. Size S is ideal for applications on the face or on acupuncture points at fingertips, toes or the ear. Sizes L and XL can be used well on larger areas. Several size M Crosstapes can also be used. When applying them, please note that Crosstapes are not elastic and cannot stretch with the skin. It is therefore recommended to use several Crosstape M in areas where the skin is stretched significantly. Sizes L and XL are suitable for less stretchable body regions, such as the outside of the thigh or shoulder, the shin, etc.

Crosstape - Sustainability

Environment and Sustainability

Our environmental concerns for waste and conservation have been carefully managed through the continuing efforts of biviax, which has received the environmental certificate from Germany‘s Green Dot Dual System (Duales System Grüner Punkt) for K-Tape and Crosstape. The prevention of production and packaging waste, and thus the conservation of resources and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, has continued to be a strategic objective at biviax.

The outer packaging for our products consists solely of paper and cardboard. Neither plastic sockets nor plastic backing materials are used for the K-Tape rolls. We use only paper and cardboard here, as well. These items are more costly to produce, but are proving more friendly to our environment.
